Pageant
History
The Miss Rodeo California Pageant is
held annually to select a young lady to represent the Golden State
while promoting the sport or professional rodeo and the great
western way of life. Each year, talented cowgirls from 17 to 23
years old compete for this prestigious title.
Previously held in Turlock, the Miss Rodeo California Pageant moved
to Sacramento in 1982 and to Brawley in 1988. In 1989, the pageant
was moved to be held in conjunction with the Poway Rodeo in San
Diego County. After a successful five years in Poway, the pageant
moved to Fresno in 1995, and has settled in as an annual part of the
San Dimas Western Days and Rodeo since 1996.
