Mackenzie Cayford, Miss Rodeo Lakeside was crowned
Miss Rodeo CA 2012, October 6th at the Paso Robles Inn in Paso
Robles. She resides in Valley Center and is the daughter of Bob
and Cindy Cayford. In obtaining the crown, Mackenzie was the
recipient of a Circle Y trophy saddle, a Skyline Silversmiths
trophy buckle, a horse trailer from Golden West Trailer Sales,
Best Ever Saddle Pad, Dan Post Boots, Vogt silver watch and
earrings, Platinum Performance products and a $4000 scholarship,
and many more prizes. Judging the event were: Kiki Shumway from
Paso, WA, Kelly Baxley from Carrollton, TX, Rob Smets from Merkel,
TX and Kendra Santos from Creston, CA. First runner up to Miss
Rodeo CA was Sophia Fisher, Miss Rodeo Glennville, and second
runner up - Heather Ross, Miss Rodeo Leona Valley.

Mackenzie was crowned by Brittany Slaton, Miss
Rodeo CA 2011, the outgoing Miss Rodeo California. Brittany will
be vying for the Miss Rodeo America title in December during the
Wrangler National Rodeo Finals, along with 27 other contestants
from states across the country. The coronation will take place at
the MGM Grand on December 10.
